Both strands of the necklace are fully woven in a white and grey scrollwork ground with repeated blue butterfly motifs, each butterfly requiring dozens of individual beads placed in precise sequence to render the wing shape, the colour gradient from cobalt to sky blue, and the black detail that gives each one its definition.
